March 14 Newz for Yewz

So after a very busy week of medical appts for my broken ankle, I have finally gotten back to the computer. 2 new posts going up. 1 under soundtracks and the next installment on Drew’s Corner. These are 2 albums that are ‘underdogs’, whatever that means, in the music world of the respective artists connected to them. As a matter of fact, I find these ‘underdogs’ to really be the work that shines for artists. The popular stuff tends to be meh. At least that’s the way it seems to be after the modern, clear channel, radio stations get to them. They play the shit out of everything to the point that it loses it’s magic. But I guess that is irrelevant for John Williams and Frank Zappa, considering that radio play is not common at all for these genius’s. So I am blowing hard cold wind here. Let’s get on with it shall we?

I have received my first request to review an album from Mike D in Milwaukee. I’ll get that up Sunday as mentioned. New to this last weeks posts are : Carl Sagan’s “A Glorius Dawn” on 45, Van Halen’s “Van Halen” (1) on 33, and Louis Armstrong’s "Zat you Santa Clause” on 78. Start of the Video Blogs will begin the first week of March and I will be posting them as well on Sunday Morning. Stay tuned! Lastly, I have a new tab under “record review’s” called “Drew’s Corner”. It is a space for review’s and suggestions from the man who got my vinyl obsession kick started. Andrew Wilke. I will be handing you his top 10 and weekly contributions respectfully, every week. Stay tuned as I build the site and add every week.

John Carpenters Lost Themes lll Alive After Death

Today arrived the first of many copies of John Carpenter’s new Album “Lost Themes lll Alive after Death”. I am completely speechless to be honest after going 33 RPM’s for the duration of Ten songs. This, the 3rd installment with son Cody, and Daniel Davies collaborating as fellow project men. If you are a fan of JC, this is your album. A full review to come, but I must get back to this ear candy. That is all for now
